Grassroots Preparatory School, rooted in South African society will follow the prevailing curriculum policy of the Public School system. The curriculum currently being implemented is called CAPS, the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement, including the assessment criteria for promotion purposes. Our Language of Learning and Teaching is English. In Life Orientation in the Foundation Phase (Grade R to Grade 3) our approach will be thematic.

Grassroots Prep will be adopting a zero homework policy. We believe that the responsibility of delivering quality education lies with the teacher. Even though homework will not be given, we believe that education carries on outside the classroom environment as learning never stops. An example of this would be helping to cook supper, walking the dog or shopping with folks. These activities all incorporate skills taught in the classroom and these are applied to life.
